About the Artist
Before beginning his sculpting career, Mario " RAM " Mallari Jr. studied architecture and worked as a draftsman. Ram was introduced to metalsmithing at a young age, despite his poor beginnings. Mallari recognized the beauty in the multitude of recoverable, metallic forms sprouting from the stacks of scrap metal heading for trash. Mallari Jr.'s steampunk-inspired sculptures have won him international attention. Mallari has maintained his remarkable career and garnered international praise in just three years, the most recent of which is becoming a guest artist and professor at the Singapore Science Museum's art workshop. His work has been featured in a variety of television and print media outlets, including Thompson Reuters, the Washington Post, NBC News TV, BBC News, and Yahoo, to mention a few.
