Moira Dela Torre is a famous and well-known singer and songwriter in the Philippines. She is known for her soothing voice that can bring comfort and said to be can touch the heart of all her listeners. Moira’s career in the music industry started first as a voice artist in the different theme songs of commercials, and some of them became popular. Moira first appeared on national television to audition in The Voice Philippines year 2013, although she didn’t manage to win in that competition more opportunities opened up for her. She continues to pursue her love for music, and she did a lot of songs to express her feelings and her thoughts. Jason Marvin Hernandez the husband of Moira, they’ve been working together and also traveled together, they started as best friends who work together, then successfully transition to be romantic lovers year back 2017. The couple exchange-vow in January year 2019.


The two continue to produce a good quality song that made everyone who listens moved, touched, and find comfort. Some of the songs that Moira is famous for are Malaya, Tagpuan, Torete, and so on, listeners labeled her as the “hugot queen” because every time she sings it is full of emotion that came from a deep meaning. Moira said that the inspiration for her to write and make a song is her real-life experiences, Jason the husband of Moira, which the two who work together also said that his inspiration to write a song is his experiences in life.

The year 2020 since the Philippines experience the lockdowns in different towns and cities in the country. Frontliners who are risking their lives and facing this pandemic are the ones that songwriting couple inspires to make their new song entitled “May Pag-asa”.

The song is about hope in this time we currently facing and fighting, and reminds everyone that there is always light at the end of the tunnel.

Moreover, the song wants to impart a message to sincerely thank the first responders and frontliners.

          Anton del Castillo is an assistant professor at the University of the Philippines Integrated School in Quezon City. He received his degrees in Bachelor of Fine Arts and Master of Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, and he has undertaken training in the restoration department of the National Museum of the Philippines.   About the Artist      The writer, Carlo Bonn Felix Hornilla, is a spoken word poetry artist, most commonly known for his lovelorn, bitter stories in the YouTube channel " Ampalaya Monologues", in which one of them have garnered millions of views. He grew up and lives in Lipa, Batangas and has been involved in monologue writing as he joined a group of theater actors as their monologue writer.  He learned a lot of Batanguenyo words from the elders in his village, and says that the Batanguenyo dialect has a lot of colorful words that make it entertaining to be used in speaking. He also cited that a famous Batanguenyo actor, Leo Martinez, is known for his humorous dialect that comes out as flirty and funny. He uses the dialect in his spoken word poetry, combined with his relatable love speeches and is able to communicate messages which is well-received by the audience.
